New OTP project

Hi everyone. I had the need to create yesterday but wanted to make something other than a layout. I really, really LOVE shabby chic/french, so I decided to make middle daughter (Kloe) a name plaque door/wall hanger out of the 4x4 mini canvases I had. It was pretty quick, especially using the heat-gun to help dry the paint. I used the cricut Home Decor cartridge and cut out the gorgeous chandelier with black cardstock. I also used Kaiser and Jo Sonya paints and JS crackle medium. The letters were from a bag of die-cut letters I brought off a lady from the local market, so I am unsure if what the font is. I used Jo Sonya Opal Dust and Kindyglitz (crystalina). I used Dimentional Magic to stick everything down and used Jo Sonya satin finish acrylic varnish. I liked the way it turned out, I think I will make a bigger version but without the name for an art piece! My daughter loved it, so that's always a bonus!  Hope you like it!

Scrap Room re-do

I recently re-did my scrap room. It just wasn't working and I needed more space for 'stuff'. I had a few boards that I painted in white and my hubby put them up above my desk for me. It looks fantastic! I am really pleased with how it came out! It's so much nicer to create in a room that you love.

Latest update...

Well, it has been quite a while since I last blogged! I have just been busy with family stuff. Christmas blew me out of the water..it snuck up so very fast! I really wasn't prepared for it this year. We had Christmas lunch at my mother-in-law's with my 2 sister-in-laws and my brother-in-law and their 2 boys, Caleb and Isaac. It was a great day, with a cold lunch, instead of the traditional hot lunch. It was very yummy though. We took lots of photos..always great to look back on and lots of layouts!

On the scrapping front, I haven't done a great deal. My printer needs a new head, that equals lots of money! I like to print out my own pics because I like to fiddle with them in pohoto-editing software first. I also do a bit of hybrid scrapping. I so want that printer fixed! I really miss scrapping. I did a christmas banner, which turned out pretty good I must say. I made the papers by 'blending' different papers in photo-editing software then printing them out. The banner says "JOY". Appropraiate for Christmas. The truth is, I couldn't be bothered doing a really long one that says "MERRY CHRISTMAS"!! lol Talk about lazy.
