I was given some material, lace and other goodies from my MIL. I liked the pattern on an old torn pillow case, so I thought I would have a go at making a cushion cover, in Shabby Chic style of course! It took me nearly ALL day to make this LOL. I'm happy with how it turned out, considering I have NEVER made a cushion cover before. I just did an envelope type closure at the back...sewing in a zip just frightens me a little (or rather a lot!) I am not very good at sewing, so pretty happy considering! Hope you like it!

Jewellery Box
Hi!
It's been a very, very long time since I last blogged. Over a year in fact!! Just been busy and, alright, I keep forgeting to blog :\ Anyway, I thought I'd share a jewellery box I made for my daughter, Georgia's 10th birthday, which was yesterday (21st March). My dear mum-in-law gave me a HEAP of lace, fabric, ribbon and 'stuff' after cleaning out her cupboard. Lucky me!!! :D One thing that was included was, a wooden box just perfect for a little girl's jewellery box! I set to work sanding and painting. It also came with some beautiful mauve satin and wadding for cushioning the interior. I happened to have the exact match of paint as the satin. It is the same colour as our eldest daughter's (Erin) room at present. I had some lovely flowers and pearls and trinkets to adorn it with. I also found in the stash, some trim that matched the colour as well as some lace!! It came together so easily! I really enjoyed making this for her. I had to tell Georgia it was for Nan, as I couldn't get it finished in time if I had of waited for her to not be around. (Just a little white lie!) On her birthday, Georgia opened her present, she gasped and glared at me, so funny! She loves it, which is all that matters!
I am really happy with how this turned out! I didn't go and buy anything, I just used what I had :) I made a hat pin to go inside, although I'm not sure if this was a good idea! lol
I will be uploading some more pics of other stuff I have done/altered/destroyed (lol) tomorrow.
Belinda :)
